An 80-year-old gas station clerk got the jump on an armed robber after being warned by local police about recently armed robberies.
Around 2:57 AM this past Sunday, a robber armed with a rifle entered the Norco Market & Liquor in Norco, CA. But before the suspect entered the store, the 80-year-old clerk noticed a man in a mask with a rifle get out of a vehicle on the surveillance camera. He armed himself with a shotgun and waited for the suspect to walk in.
As the suspect aimed at the clerk, he fired one shot, hitting the suspect in the arm. That sent the suspect screaming out of the store. You can hear him screaming, “He shot my arm off! He shot my arm off!”
The clerk wasn’t harmed, but shortly after the incident had a heart attack which he is now recovering from. The four suspects drove to a local hospital, where they were all arrested. They also recovered numerous stolen firearms inside the vehicle the suspects used, which was also stolen.
“In this case, a lawfully armed member of our community prevented a violent crime and ensured their own safety while being confronted with multiple armed suspects,” local police said in a new release.
