In the early morning hours of August the 12th, Police said a security camera alerted a homeowner that four men were outside.
Recordings show four men getting out of a vehicle and casually walking up to the porch. One briefly attempts to cover a doorbell camera, then he and a second suspect kick in the house’s front door. As two suspects entered, the homeowner fired multiple rounds, and all four of the suspects fled.
“As four males, some of who appear to be armed in the video, kicked in the front door, the homeowner discharged a gun toward them,” stated Sgt. Ann Justus. via FOX10 PHOENIX
The driveway camera shows there may have been a 5th suspect involved because the gray 4-door sedan starts to move before they reach it. Two suspects managed to get in as the car drove off, but the other two fled on foot. Fortunately for the suspects, none appear to have been hit.
No arrests have been made, and the Phoenix police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects.

Since this happened at 4 am the average homeowner would have been in bed sound asleep. Look at the upper right-hand corner of the footage, and you will see what appears to be a TV on the wall as the suspects bust the door down. They apparently entered directly into the living room, where the homeowner was ready.
This entire event was approximately twenty-six seconds, so the homeowner didn’t have much time to respond. If this proves to be accurate, he was one well-prepared individual that had no intentions of becoming a victim.
One of the main rules of firearm safety is to be sure of your target, your line of fire, and what lies beyond. You should never shoot at someone until there is an imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm, and some might question your decision if you fire before someone starts to enter your home. The homeowner did the correct thing and waited to fire until they broke the door down and attempted to go in.
