Victim Shoots at Armed Robbers with a Gun One Dropped; Killing One

Early Saturday morning, three armed robbers confronted a man close to the University of Southern California.

The 53-year-old potential target didn’t comply, and when he fought back, one of the armed robbers dropped a gun. Then again, they may have tossed it out of shock because the guy was winning the fight.

Either way, their would-be victim ended up being a little faster and wiser since he got to the gun first and shot one assailant as the other two drove away. When police arrived, they found a man who had defended himself and, unfortunately, a deceased criminal.

CBSLA reported a resident stated, “I don’t want to celebrate somebody losing their life, but, hey man, they put themselves in that position, and you have to realize there could be consequences.”

I clearly wouldn’t call it celebrating, but he did what he had to do, and they paid the price. He wasn’t the one who took a firearm and tried to force another person to do something against their will.

“I don’t know how to feel about it. Because, again, it’s an armed robbery. The guy was just defending himself. … They didn’t have to go out looking for trouble, and they did, and they found it.” another resident said to CBSLA.

Criminals should know that’s the risk they take robbing someone at gunpoint, and I disagree that if you go out to commit a crime, you are looking for trouble.

In a way, the two that got away were probably lucky their friend didn’t make it because if my friends left me behind, I would have most likely killed them when I caught up.
