In the middle of the night, three suspects simply walked into a home through an unlocked door and robbed the homeowner, according to Michigan State Police.
One suspect held the homeowner at gunpoint with an AK-style pistol while the other two stole a firearm from the house. According to the report, the suspects were following some rules and had their masks and gloves on. The three guys took off in the homeowner’s truck with a landscaping trailer still attached, but they didn’t hurt the victim.

They broke in to steal the homeowner’s firearm? Holy, Michigan, is a small town with not much in the area, so my first thought is they probably knew each other. This might have been preventable if the homeowner had just locked their doors. That may have provided a little time for the occupant to retrieve their firearm, and then they could have given the thugs a proper welcoming.
If you are going to own a gun, get the training needed to use it, and then be prepared when the time comes. Lock your doors, keep your gun close and give yourself some extra time to respond.
