Dollar General Manager w/ CCW Shoots “Armed” Robber in Head

I reported on a shootout at a Family Dollar in Florida yesterday and today’s incident comes from a Dollar General store in Philadelphia, PA.

Last night around 8:30 PM, a 36-year-old man walked into a Dollar General and announced a robbery. He told the clerk to empty the cash register. The clerk managed to get the manager’s attention, who walked over and tried to talk the suspect down.

The suspect told the manager he had a gun and showed something that looked like a gun wrapped in plastic. Thinking it was a real gun and his life was in danger, the store manager drew his concealed carry gun and fired one shot, hitting the suspect in the head. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The store manager had a valid Pennsylvania concealed carry permit and is not expected to be charged.
