Mass Stabbing On Las Vegas Strip Leaves 2 Dead, 6 Injured

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Police say a suspect began stabbing people with a large kitchen knife on the streets of Las Vegas just before Noon local time in the vicinity of the Wynn Las Vegas.

During a press conference, LVMPD said the suspect was on the sidewalk near Sands Ave. and Spring Mountain Rd. and that this was where the original stabbing incident occurred. He then walked southbound and stabbed five additional victims. Another victim was stabbed on the southside of Sands, police stated.

Police say a total of 8 people were stabbed, with two dead from their injuries. The additional 6 victims were taken to various hospitals where 3 were listed in critical condition and the other 3 listed as stable.

The suspect has been identified only as a Hispanic man in his 30s, and it does not appear that he lives locally in the area.

After the stabbings, the suspect continued down the road and was followed by multiple concerned citizens. Eventually, Sans Security and Las Vegas Police caught up to him and took him into custody.

The attack appears to have been random, and no altercation was noticed prior to the incident.

Police released video of the suspect walking down the street as he was fleeing from the scene.

This is a developing story.
