Apparently, flashing a gun at a store clerk didn’t get the desired effect for a 32-year-old man attempting to rob a convenience store yesterday.
Around 12:28 PM on Monday in El Paso, TX, a man entered a convenience store with the intent of robbing it. He walked to the counter, demanded money from the clerk, and showed that he had a gun in his waistband.
But the 28-year-old store clerk, a concealed carry permit holder, was armed and shot the suspect at least once. Police arrived on the scene, and the suspect was transported to a nearby hospital. He was last reported in stable condition.
Being a convenience store clerk can be a dangerous job. At least this clerk was armed and prepared to defend himself. People that work in nearby businesses said that he was just defending himself and would do the same thing if they were in his situation.
