KENNER, LA – Passengers aboard a Delta Airlines flight spring into action after a man put a flight attendant into a chokehold, holding a sharp object to her neck.
A Delta Airlines flight that debarked from Atlanta landed at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
After landing, a man cut himself on the neck using a “sharp object”; some reports stated that it was a broken piece of glass, possibly a shot glass.
The man then walked toward the front of the plane, leaving a blood trail. He then grabbed a flight attendant and put her in a chokehold while holding the object to her neck. Another report stated that he said he would cut her head off if anyone touched him.
But that didn’t stop eight passengers from overtaking the man and subduing him until officers arrived. The man was treated for minor injuries and then booked with aggravated battery, disturbing the peace and simple battery.
The flight attendant had two minor cuts that were able to be treated on the scene.
We’ve all seen videos of unruly passengers aboard planes, especially as of late. And most of these, you’ll just see people recording the incident or not doing anything at all. But not on this flight. The passengers weren’t having it and, thankfully, sprung into action.
