Armed Carjack Attempt Foiled as Brave Woman Accelerates to Safety in Oakland

OAKLAND, CA – A woman narrowly escaped an armed carjacking after another car pulled out in front of her and blocked the traffic lane this past July.

A woman was driving along Skyline Boulevard in Oakland Hills with a white Dodge Charger in front of her. Once they were in a section of the road that widened, the Dodge Charger seemingly pulled over to the side of the road.

Once the woman closed some distance, the Dodge Charger blocked the road so she would have to stop. That’s when two of the three suspects got out of the Dodge Charger and approached the woman in her car.
At first, she seems in disbelief over what is happening. But the suspect who got out of the driver’s seat was armed with a handgun and pointed it at the victim as he rushed her car. You can hear him knocking on her driver-side window.

Thankfully, she did not freeze up and decided to step on the gas pedal and escape the attack. Quick thinking that just might have saved her life.

All three suspects were caught and arrested the following week and linked to numerous carjackings.
