TRENTON, NJ – A late-night disturbance turned fatal when a homeowner shot and killed a man who was allegedly threatening him on his property. The incident unfolded on Bert Avenue around 10:25 p.m. Sunday, drawing a rapid response from local law enforcement.

Police were initially called to the scene following reports of gunfire. Coincidentally, detectives already in the vicinity for a separate matter quickly located a man, later identified as 34-year-old Andray Ingram, on St. Francis Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Ingram was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The investigation revealed a tense confrontation leading up to the shooting. According to local media, the homeowner had fired multiple shots at an individual who was purportedly armed with a hammer. Before the fatal shots were fired, the man who was shot was reportedly banging on the homeowner’s front door and vandalizing his Ring doorbell camera. The situation escalated when he entered the vestibule of the home, prompting the homeowner to open fire.

As of now, authorities have not filed any charges, and the case remains under active investigation.
