PONCA CITY, OK — A violent home invasion ended in tragedy on Sunday evening when a man was fatally shot after attempting to force entry into a residence in Ponca City.
The incident occurred shortly after 7:00 pm at a home located at 2200 W. Central Avenue. According to the Ponca City Police Department, 29-year-old Jacob S. Grudowski was involved in an ongoing domestic situation with one of the residents. This conflict escalated when Grudowski arrived at the residence, attempted to force his way in, and began firing multiple gunshots at the occupants.
Responding officers and Ponca City Fire Department personnel found Grudowski near the home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported that Grudowski and one of the residents exchanged gunfire during the attempted break-in, resulting in Grudowski’s fatal injuries.
