A California man’s “survival instincts kicked in” as three men attempted to rob his home, one of which he can face to face with as he opened his bedroom door.
This past Saturday, a man awoke to noises outside his home. His first thought was that it was raccoons that had been getting into garbage cans lately. But the sounds were not from raccoons. It was three men attempting to break into his home.
The homeowner saw two men pulling open his screen door. He ran to his closet to get his gun and started firing at them. The two suspects ran off, but the homeowner thought they might be trying to find another entry into his home. As he opened his bedroom door to investigate, he came face to face with another suspect who was standing roughly six feet away. As the man was coming toward him, the suspect saw his gun and started yelling. The homeowner then fired at the suspect, who ran off.
Thinking he would need more ammunition, the homeowner ran to his closet, where he had four loaded magazines and a first aid kit. He called 911, who cleared the home once they showed up.
The suspects, which were wearing masks and hoodies, have not been found. The homeowner wasn’t sure if he shot any of the suspects.
