CHICAGO, IL – In a tense confrontation that underscores the dangers of attempting to disarm an armed assailant, a 49-year-old man was shot in the torso during a robbery attempt in a Chicago park. The incident, which is now under investigation by Area Three detectives, occurred when the victim was approached by an unknown male wielding a handgun.
