A Las Vegas man will not be charged after fatally shooting a 16-year-old male this past Monday morning.
Around 6:05 AM, a legally armed man was walking in the area of Flamingo and Fort Apache streets in Las Vegas, NV. He encountered a 16-year-old male who he got into an altercation with. No reports state what the altercation was about.
But the teen reportedly drew and pointed a gun at the man. Feeling that his life was threatened, he drew his concealed carry gun and fatally shot the 16-year-old suspect.
The man was not arrested, and the police said that he would not be charged.
We don’t know why the man was walking the street that early in the morning, but he could have just been walking to work or catching a bus. Whatever the reason, it’s a good thing he was prepared to defend himself. I know the area this took place in, and it isn’t a “bad area” or “bad neighborhood.” This goes to show you that bad things can happen anywhere at any time.
It is also nice to see that the man was not arrested and that it didn’t take long (3 days) for the police to state that he won’t be charged.
