Concealed Carry Holder Returns Fire in Fatal Chicago Triple Shooting

CHICAGO, IL – In the early hours of Saturday morning, a confrontation unfolded in Chicago’s Humboldt Park area that ended in gunfire.

Around 1:17 A.M., Chicago police were called to the 1600 block of North Hamlin Avenue. There, they discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Among them was a 31-year-old man, a licensed concealed carry holder, who used his concealed carry gun in self-defense.

This individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, was outside when two men in a vehicle, armed with handguns, opened fire. The concealed carry holder drew his weapon and engaged the assailants.

The victim was hit in the torso, necessitating urgent medical attention at Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition. One suspect who was struck in the chest, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other suffered a shoulder wound and was treated at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
