Florida Man’s Violent Carjacking Spree Ends in Fatal Shooting by Relative During Home Invasion

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A series of violent crimes ended tragically when a man was fatally shot by a homeowner during a break-in late Wednesday night, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Ja’Darian Graham, embarked on a crime spree that began with his attempts to steal four vehicles while armed. Witnesses reported that Graham fired shots at both vehicles and the ground, demanding occupants to exit their cars.

The situation escalated when Graham, unsuccessful in his carjacking attempts at Lee Boulevard Plaza, eventually succeeded in stealing a vehicle from the Lehigh Discount Liquor Store. He then drove to a relative’s home on John’s Avenue, where he continued his violent rampage, firing shots toward and around the home.

In a terrifying turn of events, the homeowner, who was also Graham’s relative, confronted the intruder after his girlfriend fled the home. During the altercation, the homeowner was shot in the elbow but managed to return fire, fatally wounding Graham.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident, which has shocked the community. No further details about the homeowner or additional injuries have been released at this time.
