CHICAGO, IL – A group of kids in Chicago attempted to rob a CCL holder with a pellet gun. Their plans took an unanticipated turn when their intended victim, with a concealed carry license, responded with a real firearm. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on Chicago’s North Side.
CWBChicago reports that a group of people approached a 37-year-old woman on the street, and one of them, a 15-year-old, thought his pellet gun would get her to hand over her possessions.
Contrary to what the group thought would happen, the victim responded by pulling out her gun, and the group ran away.
Shortly afterward, the cops caught the 15-year-old suspect and took the pellet gun he had used. The teen is currently facing unspecified charges.

This adds to a growing list of crimes committed by handguns, not assault weapons, after the lawsuit against the State of Illinois over its recent assault weapons ban was lost in state court.
In the past few weeks, we have reported on a few encounters where a concealed carry holder (CCL) had to defend themselves in Chicago.
- An Uber driver got into a shootout with two men.
- A failed Chicago carjacking attempt when several men lost against a concealed carry holder (CCL).
- A 31-year-old victim was heading home from work and got shot while defending himself against three attackers in the Lawndale neighborhood.
- Three armed individuals exited their vehicle and went after a victim carrying a firearm who got away last week.
In Chicago, the number of CCL holders using firearms for self-defense this year keeps growing. This year, Illinois implemented several pieces of legislation aimed at restricting law-abiding citizens’ rights to self-defense, including an Illinois assault weapons ban and confusing firearm marketing laws.
