If you cannot control your anger and ego, then carrying a gun might not be a good decision. Carry concealed is for self-defense. It shouldn’t be used to draw down on people that piss you off while driving.
A New Mexico man made a u-turn around 2 PM on Tuesday of last week. A white Dodge Charger sped up and cut the man off. The Charger then followed the man into a grocery store parking lot and parked behind him blocking him in.
A 57-year-old man got out of the Charger and drew his weapon on the man driving the other car. It was reported that he told the man, “Freeze, don’t take another step.” The other man put his hands in the air scared that he would get shot.
There are no details about what happened after that. We can assume the road rager got in his car and drove off. But the victim called the police who caught up with the 57-year-old at his apartment.
“Mr. Funsch said he was unable to see the male’s hands so he unholstered his concealed weapon and pointed it at the male,” the complaint said. “Mr. Funsch then paused while talking and stated, ‘I’m just having a bad day, and I took it out on him I’m sorry.’” via Santa Fe New Mexican.
Having a bad day is no excuse to get into a road rage incident with someone and pull your gun on them, just because you “wanted to talk to them.” This is a perfect example of an irresponsible gun owner. If you can’t control your anger, don’t carry a gun.
