At a grocery store in Oxon Hill, Maryland, a woman attempting to shoplift and a security guard killed each other in a shoot-out on November 4, 2022.

The store Security Guard confronted the woman who was attempting to shoplift from the store. The woman retrieved a handgun from her bag and shot the Security Guard, who returned fire, hitting the woman. Both the Guard and the woman succumbed to their injuries.

No other people were harmed in the shoot-out.

This store is “steps away from a police station.” Given the brazenness of today’s criminals, there is virtually no public place that can be considered “safe.” Develop and maintain your proficiency with your firearms and carry them whenever and wherever you legally can! Stay safe in the new year!
