WIXOM, MI – Exciting news for firearm enthusiasts and shooting professionals! Trijicon, the renowned provider of aiming solutions, has announced the release of two new red dot optics today: the RCR™ Ruggedized Closed Reflex and the RMR® HD. While I haven’t had the opportunity to use or test these optics myself (they should be in my hands by the end of the week), here’s a brief overview of what Trijicon has unveiled.
Trijicon RCR Ruggedized Closed Reflex: Durability and Performance
The Trijicon RCR is designed as a sealed pistol red dot optic, catering to the needs of military, law enforcement, and defense-minded individuals. Trijicon emphasizes that the RCR boasts exceptional durability and mechanical robustness, making it suitable for demanding applications.
Built with 7075-T6 aluminum and utilizing the RMR patented shape, the RCR is engineered to absorb recoil and impacts while protecting the lenses. It also shares the RMR’s footprint, allowing easy mounting on any slide or plate that accepts an RMR. The innovative capstan screw design ensures ease of use and robustness during installation.
Featuring 10 manual brightness settings, including night vision options and a super bright option, the RCR allows users to adapt to various lighting conditions. The LED illumination is powered by a CR2032 battery, offering an impressive 6-year continuous use at brightness setting 5 of 10 at 70°F.
The RCR’s multi-coated lens promises minimal color distortion, providing a true-color view. The 3.25 MOA red dot is adjustable for elevation and windage with 1 MOA per click adjustments and a total of 150 MOA travel.
Trijicon has equipped the RCR with upgraded electronics, ruggedized battery contacts, and user-friendly adjustment buttons to ensure optimal performance and survivability in harsh environments.
Trijicon RMR HD: Precision Designed for Professionals
Trijicon introduces the RMR HD as an optic tailored to meet the evolving needs of law enforcement and armed forces. With a large, clear lens made from tempered glass, the RMR HD offers an unobstructed view of the target, simplifying reticle acquisition and tracking.
The new RMR HD reticle provides two options: a 55 MOA segmented circle with a center dot or a crisp dot-only option. Users can choose between a 1.0 MOA or 3.25 MOA center dot, depending on their preference.
The RMR HD features an advanced forward-looking light sensor that automatically adjusts the dot brightness to suit the environment. Additionally, it offers nine brightness settings and larger, more responsive buttons for manual mode adjustments.
The top-loading battery compartment allows for quick and easy battery replacement without compromising the optic’s zero. The RMR HD operates on a single CR2032 battery, providing over three years of continuous use at the dot-only brightness setting 5 of 9 at 70°F.
Similar to the RCR, the RMR HD is designed with a forged 7075 T-6 aluminum housing in the patented RMR shape, ensuring robustness and reliability in challenging conditions.
