A violent crime spree was ended after a homeowner shot the suspect while attempting to hit someone with a car.
Early yesterday morning, a man went on a violent crime spree in Lincoln County, MS. Police were first called around 4 AM to a residence where the man had threatened the occupants in the home. While the police were at the first incident, they received another call about a man breaking into another nearby home and attacking two men inside.
Once the police arrived at the second home where the incident occurred, they found that a neighbor was also attacked. While investigating the second incident, they received yet another call about a man attempting to break into another nearby home. When the police arrived on the scene of the third incident and heard gunshots.
The suspect was attempting to hit someone with a car and was shot. It is unclear if the shooter that stopped the threat was the person he was trying to hit with the car or someone else. The suspect was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In three related incidents within a short period of time where at least six people were attacked, the only thing that stopped this violent crime spree was a man with a gun.
