Concealed Carrier Wins Shootout With Armed Robber on Chicago CTA Train

Concealed Carrier Wins Shootout With Armed Robber on Chicago CTA Train

A man turned the tables on a would-be-armed robber last month, and it all unfolded on a Chicago CTA Train during rush hour.

A 25-year-old man was riding the train when a 33-year-old man approached him. The suspect drew a handgun and announced that he was robbing the victim. But the victim wasn’t giving up that easily. The 25-year-old pulled his concealed carry gun and fired at the suspect. The two men exchanged gunfire. The suspect was hit in the leg while the victim was unharmed. The suspect was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his wounds. We can assume that he will be arrested and charged when released.

We often say that drawing on someone when you have a gun pointed at you is a bad idea. At that point, you are behind the 8-ball. But the man in this incident came out on top and was unharmed. Thankfully, no innocent bystanders were harmed, as this happened during the afternoon rush hour.

A young man that was interviewed said he carries a knife because he doesn’t feel safe using public transportation in Chicago. I don’t think I’d feel safe in Chicago, period, but that’s beside the point. He also says, “it is crazy” because all these people are trying to go to work, and then you have people being violent. Yep, that is crazy. But that is the world we live in. You have to take your personal projection into your own hands.
